About Swallow Studios
Swallow Studios is located at Annyalla in Castleblayney
, Co. Monaghan.
Swallow Studios at Annyalla, outside Castleblayney, houses a unique combination of craft textile workshops in the heart of Co. Monaghan.
Liz Christie, Louise Loughman and Catherina Donaghy are three very different textile artisans, each using their skills to create very desirable crafted goods, all under one roof.
Their beautiful and unique work is all the more special in this age of mass production. Liz's handwoven scarves are inspired by the paintings of the Impressionist painter, Claude Monet. Louise draws her inspiration for her batiks from Irish ythology and her surrounding heritage. Catherina, who works on commission, makes handtufted rugs and her designs are inspired by Ireland's Neolithic sites, stones and fossils.
