About Saint Canice's Catholic Church
Saint Canice's Catholic Church is located at Dean Street in Kilkenny
, Co. Kilkenny.
Built by Reverend Jacob Gorman in 1824-27 this is substantial Gothic-style Catholic church. It is unusual to fine Catholic churches of this scale and detail before Catholic Emancipation in 1829 thus indicating the religious tolerance in Kilkenny together with the relative prosperity of the local congregation.
