About Poulawack Cairn
Poulawack Cairn is located at Poulawack in The Burren
, Co. Clare.
This is one of the best examples of a Cairn in the Burren. Originally excavated in the 1930s, the remains of 16 people were found in ten separate graves. Cairns succeeded Meaglithic tombs of the Neolithic Age and Poulawack was used during the mid-4th, early and late 2nd millenia BC.
It is best to park off the R480 at 53.031429N, 9.136814W. The Cairn is on private property.
