Dysert O'Dea Castle is an authentically restored 15th century tower house. It was built in 1480 by Diarmuid O'Dea for his family. It was badly damaged by Cromwell's forces in the 1650s.
It opened as an Archaeology Centre in 1986 and is now one of the most visited heritage sites in Co. Clare..
