The Living Past Experience is an archaeological open air museum. The 50-acre wooded park, comprises a lake and shows several examples of early historic dwelling places such as a Crannog, Ringfort, Dolmen, Standing Stone and Lime Kilm (Fulachta Fia).
Adjacent to the museum is Craggaunowen Castle a 16th century tower house built in the 1550s by the McNamaras.
