Atlantic Airventure, Shannon is located at Smithstown in Shannon , Co. Clare.

This is a fantastic educational place for kids or bigger kids like myself to come and learn all about flight. They have the actual cockpit of a 737 which is hooked up to a flight sim program. It's so good it's used for training pilots on. I have been in and have to say it's the real deal. There are also many smaller flight sim booths too to cater for groups. I have brought tours to it and can't wait for the next time. It's just down a lane from McDonalds. They don't get any government grants which is a pity, so it's a group of highly skilled individuals who wish to pass on their love of flying. Among the staff are an Aeronautical Engineer and a Pilot. They first explain all about flight before taking the children into the flight simulators. Air Traffic Controllers who work nearby also come there to explain their work to school tours. I can't recommend it more highly. Have a look at their website, anyone with any interest in planes would thoroughly enjoy it. Prices are very reasonable.
