About this POI Package
RSA Danger Zones POI Package
The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is tasked with improving safety on our roads in order to reduce death and injury resulting from road collisions.
Based on RSA and An Garda Siochana road traffic accident data from 2005, we have identified 742 dangerous locations around the country where there has been very serious accidents, often resulting in fatal injuries. Each location is assigned a weighting indicating the seriousness of the accident - the higher the score, the more serious the accident. This score uses the same weighting formula used by An Garda Siochana to identify dangerous locations and roads in Ireland. Danger Zones have a weighting of 60 or more.
